I picked this up today, I think it's a Salt Cellar but I'm not sure. I would be grateful if you could help me, any suggestions?

How wide is it? It looks like one of those "eyeball washers", but from the photo, it looks too big. Eye washers are only about 1.5" across. Plus it has pointy edges, so I'm not sure...maybe for jam??

It's 3 1/2" long, 2" wide & 3" tall. When I first saw it I thought it was an eyeball washer too but then I picked it up and thought it was too pointy for that. My Dad wanted to know why I bought it if I didn't know what it was but I knew it was old and it was $1 so, really, how could I pass it up??????
ReplyDeleteAny idea of the maker?? It almost sounds to big for a salt cellar - I was thinking banana split dish but it's too small for that....I'm starting to feel like Goldilocks.....

thats an odd piece, I haven't ever seen anything like it before but I like it! I especially like the etched designs. Good find!
