Mother's Day and the end of school.....

I am a little behind on posting but I have been really busy (in fact I should be cleaning the bathtub right now!). Sunday was Mother's Day and we decided to go to the Gosport Art Festival in Portsmouth. It's an annual event and one I really enjoy. The weather was perfect so we ended up staying there for the majority of the day.

I was surprised Sunday morning by my two kids yelling "Happy Mother's Day!" and waking me out of a dead sleep. I got breakfast in bed, I'm not sure who invented this tradition but let me tell you; I would prefer to brush my teeth before I eat soggy cereal and cold coffee. It was a sweet notion and Marty didn't cut off a finger slicing my strawberries so I made a big deal out of it and now we all have a sweet memory of the day.

The kids really liked this exhibit

I love this picture

Marty explaining to Louisa how you blow glass. The guy was really nice, Marty would not let him say a word!

Next week is the last week of Preschool and I'm really looking forward to the break. It's been very hard this year dropping Louisa off at 9 and picking her back up at noon. Although it will make me sad for her to go to Kindergarten next year I am looking forward to having more time. Hopefully I will be able to get back to some of the projects around here!

The bathtub is calling,

  1. Kathy,

I love spending days in the way you just described - no, not cleaning bath tubs; attending craft/antique festivals! I did a double take of your mother's day gift. It looks like it is inset in the glass; one piece. Beautiful!

    Your Friend,
    Deborah

  2. Stained glass is a weakness of mine- I can't help but want every piece I see. I love the one above your door and I agree with Deborah- it does look like one piece. Your kids look like they had fun with you and I hope you did too.
