My Dad always sang that song to us on the first day of school, it used to drive us crazy (DAD! Please stop!!!). Guess who sings it to her kids now? Somethings you are just destined to repeat. Marty started 3rd grade on Tuesday, Louisa (and I) will start Preschool next week. Hopefully I can get back to some kind of schedule and continue painting the kitchen trim. So many projects, so little time!

I stumbled upon your blog and was reading some of your older posts, I loved the one about the carving you found in your closet. What a sweet find, I have come across small bits of old jewelry and little trinkets but how exciting you know who wrote it! Our home was built in 1900 and we have absolutely no history that was given to us about it. We do have a friendly ghost – lol. But that’s about it. Anyways, your story made me smile since I remembered when I was a girl I used to play in my mothers closet and I did the exact same thing- with hopes that someone would find it many years later. Who knows, maybe she had you in mind when she wrote it all those years ago. Keep writing!
